Double Whammy
This idiom comes from a cartoon strip called 'Lil Abner'. What
it means is, some sort of setback or a double blow. This term was also
used in the early 1990's during British election campaigns.

I believe the cartoon character, in the strip 'Lil Abner' was named 'Evil Eye Fleagle'. With just a look from one eye, he could bring about evil on the target. Both eyes would double the trouble.
