Muck and Brass
"Brass is a slang term for money" relates to the brass / copper
mix used in the making of the coinage in the past. Other terms relating
are "Give us all your copper mister" i.e. small change such
as your American 'pennies' rather than dimes or quarters, which are of
a silverish design... It sort of reflects the fact that you are more likely
to give up your heavy 'copper' coins to a vagrant than your higher value
'silver' change.
