| Date: September 6th 2006 Location: Front of hair salon. Result: Stolen (Wallet #2 was mailed to me two months later on November 6th. However the money, and most of the items, were missing. In fact ALL the items were missing except for the gift certificate. Even the mirror was missing. The note that was mailed with the wallet reads as follows: "My son found this wallet in the parking lot at Schnucks at Carlyle Plaza in east Belleville. He wanted to mail it to you. - D.T." I''m guessing that what happened was that the man [in the video] found the wallet, walked off with it, stole the money and then tossed the wallet in a different place. Then, many weeks later, some kid found the wallet and gave it to his mom. The mother, I'm guessing, removed the miscellaneous items as a way to decrease the cost of postage. I'm grateful to the kid and his mother for returning the lost wallet. But it still counts as "stolen" because the money was missing.) |
Notes: As you can see from the movie - just before the wallet was picked up a truck pulled into the parking space in front of me. Fortunately you can just see the edge of the wallet picker's shirt as he reaches down to pick up the wallet. |
