Our mission

We believe that boredom is just undiscovered curiosity. Our mission is simple: to curate the most interesting, entertaining, and sometimes wonderfully weird corners of the internet so you never have to stare at a blank screen again.

Whether you want to explore the universe, play pointless games, learn something new, or just waste time in the most productive way possible, we've got you covered.

What we do

We spend our days (so you don't have to) scouring the internet for hidden gems, interactive experiences, educational rabbit holes, and delightfully useless websites. Every link on BORED has been hand-picked and tested by real humans who were, at some point, very bored themselves.

The story behind BORED

BORED was born out of frustration. We were tired of searching "things to do when bored" only to find the same listicles recycled over and over. So we decided to build something better, a living, breathing directory of the internet's most interesting destinations.

We're a small team of developers based in the Netherlands. No big company, just a limited marketing budget and a handful of nerds who love the weird, clever and pointless corners of the web. We build the site and the arcade games ourselves, and we add new links by hand.

What started as a personal bookmark collection has grown into a directory of hundreds of carefully curated links across dozens of categories.

• Our team has visited every single website on this list at least twice
• Everyone on the team has at least one cat at home. Except for one person, who keeps insisting dogs are better.
