How to play Jargon bingo

You are in a meeting. Well, a fake one: a transcript auto-plays line by line, packed with the kind of corporate speak that makes calendars weep. You hold a hidden 5x5 bingo card of buzzwords. When someone in the meeting says a word on your card, tap that cell within seven seconds to mark it. Spoken buzzwords glow in the transcript while they are still tappable, and faster taps earn a bigger speed bonus. Tap a word that was not just said and you lose points. Complete a row, column or diagonal for bingo. The game runs three rounds with a fresh card each time, and your total across all three is your score.

Tips

• Skim your card between transcript lines so you know exactly what to listen for
• The centre square is free, lines through the middle finish fastest
• Do not guess: a wrong tap costs 50 points and breaks your focus
• Watch for the glow in the transcript, it marks words that still count

About Jargon bingo

Jargon bingo takes the oldest office coping mechanism, secretly playing bingo on your colleagues' buzzwords, and turns it into a proper game. The meeting is fictional but painfully accurate: ten speakers who love a deep dive, a hard stop and the occasional parking lot item, delivering over a hundred buzzwords through dozens of transcript lines. Because the transcript looks like meeting minutes and the card sits quietly beside it, the whole screen reads as diligent note-taking from a distance. The skill is in the listening: every buzzword has a short tap window, so drifting off costs you the round. Rounds are quick, the card is different every time, and the score rewards both accuracy and reaction speed. It is the only meeting where paying attention actually pays.
