How to play Goblin accountant

You are the accountant at a goblin company, and the goblins have ideas. Every round one of them files an expense claim: emergency glitter cannons, a suspiciously cheap dragon egg, a tiny hat for the mail rat. You approve or reject each claim. Approving costs gold but usually makes the goblins happy. Rejecting saves money but goblins remember, and some rejections backfire spectacularly. Survive 14 claims without going bankrupt or triggering a riot. Your final score at the quarterly review is your remaining gold plus goblin morale.

About Goblin accountant

Goblin accountant is a judgement game about corporate finance, if the corporation were staffed entirely by goblins. Every expense claim is a tiny story: the alchemy lab needs replacement eyebrows, security wants to upgrade the vault password from 'password', and the boss would like a bigger door for dramatic entrances. The fun is that both answers are always defensible. Approve everything and you go broke beloved. Reject everything and you die rich and alone in a riot. Somewhere in the middle is a quarter where the books balance and nobody sets anything on fire. Finding it takes a few runs, and every run deals you a different stack of claims.
