How to play Inbox zero

Your workday lasts two and a half minutes and the email keeps coming. Read the message at the top of your inbox and pick one of four actions: archive it, send a quick reply, ignore it or flag it urgent. Newsletters and FYIs get archived, real questions from real colleagues get a reply, spam and phishing get ignored, and genuine fires (the CEO, a production outage, an auditor in reception) get flagged. Every wrong call costs reputation, and some are worse than others: replying to phishing or ignoring the boss really hurts. If twelve emails pile up unread, you are buried and the day ends early. Keys 1 to 4 work as shortcuts on desktop.

Tips

Always check the sender address, phishing domains are just slightly wrong
Anything asking for gift cards, passwords or bank details is a scam, no matter who signed it
Correct answers in a row build a streak bonus, but accuracy beats speed
Your final score is multiplied by your reputation, so protect it

About Inbox zero

Inbox zero is a decision game wearing a mail client costume. Instead of typing or shooting, you make the one judgement call office life actually trains you for: is this email noise, work, a trap or a fire? The inbox streams in over fifty different messages, from pen newsletters and reply-all storms to a leaking server room and a CEO who genuinely needs those numbers today. The phishing emails play fair: the sender domain or the request always gives them away if you look. The pressure builds as the day speeds up, and the unread counter creeping toward twelve does terrible things to your focus. It looks calm and professional from a distance, which makes it a perfect coffee-break game at a desk. One day takes 150 seconds, but a clean day takes practice.
