How to play Pixel painter

Pick a colour from the palette and tap a cell on the grid to fill it. Tap and drag to paint a line. Use the eraser to clear cells, undo to step back through recent actions, and the 16 or 32 buttons to switch grid size. When you are happy with your art, tap save to download a PNG. Clear wipes the canvas if you want to start over.

About Pixel painter

Pixel art started as a necessity. Early home computers and consoles like the Commodore 64 and the NES had so few colours and pixels that artists invented entire styles to make every block count. The aesthetic stuck around long after hardware caught up because it is simply gorgeous. Our painter mirrors the old workflow: a grid, a tight palette, an eraser and an undo stack. Whip up a 16 by 16 sprite in five minutes and save the PNG.
