How to play Spend it all

You are handed four hundred billion dollars and one instruction: get rid of all of it. The shop is one long list in price order, sixty nine things from a one dollar gumball at the top to a seventy five billion dollar mission to Mars at the bottom, with camper vans, a six storey rubber duck, a dinosaur skeleton, a football club and an offshore wind farm somewhere in between. Tap buy to take one, sell to give one back, or type a number straight into the box and take four hundred of them. The counter at the top rolls down as you spend. Hitting exactly zero prints a receipt, and buying one of every single thing is a goal in itself. Prefer a tighter puzzle? Switch to today’s pile: a smaller, random fortune that changes every day and has to be cleared to the last dollar.

Tips

About Spend it all

There is a specific kind of daydream where you work out exactly how you would spend a fortune, and it always ends the same way: you run out of ideas long before you run out of money. That is the joke this game is built on. The list is deliberately one long scroll rather than neat categories, because the slide from gumballs to moon bases is the whole point, and the number at the top keeps rolling down no matter how hard you try. The daily version adds the opposite pressure, a pile small enough that the last few dollars actually matter. It takes a couple of minutes, there is nothing to lose and nothing to grind, and the receipt at the end is usually funnier than the spending was.
