How to play Museum of bad ideas

Inventors keep showing up at your museum with truly terrible ideas: a chocolate teapot, an inflatable dartboard, a concrete parachute. Each submission comes with three stats: stupidity, danger and appeal. Read the pitch, weigh the numbers and either exhibit it or reject it. Every accepted piece changes your museum. Appeal and stupidity pull visitors through the door, while danger is a balancing act: a little thrill boosts the crowd, but push the average too high and families flee while the safety inspector circles. Your collection is saved in your browser, so you can review a few submissions whenever you feel like curating.

About Museum of bad ideas

Museum of bad ideas is a curation game about celebrating human confidence gone wrong. Every invention in the submission pile is fictional and proudly useless, from breathable mesh umbrellas to a battery-powered battery charger. Your job is not to find good ideas, there are none. Your job is to find the right kind of bad: stupid enough to draw a crowd, safe enough to keep the doors open. There is no timer and no way to lose, just a visitor counter that quietly judges your taste. The game saves your gallery between visits, so your museum grows one questionable acquisition at a time. It is part collection game, part management sim, and entirely a love letter to ideas that should never have left the drawing board.
