Manage a digital ant colony without the fear of actual bugs crawling into your keyboard.

What it is

ant toys is a page of fourteen classic games shrunk to the size of postage stamps. Snake, a paddle game, a brick-breaker, a mine-flagging puzzle, tic-tac-toe, checkers, four-in-a-row, a memory game, a pattern-repeat game, a tiny flappy ant and a few more sit in a grid on a black, starry page, each one fully playable in a box you could cover with a fingertip. The tagline asks what this is, a website for ants, and the honest answer is yes.

How to play

Pick a game and squint. Each box has its own one-line control hint under it: click to play, tap to flap, wasd or arrows for snake, mouse or touch for the paddle games, right-click to flag a mine. There is a scoreboard at the top for the games that keep score. Nothing loads, nothing installs, and if you finish one you just move your cursor a few centimeters to the next.

What makes it different

The games are not screenshots or previews, they are the real thing at a comically small size, which turns games you have played a thousand times into a fresh problem. Snake at this scale is a test of nerve. Flagging mines becomes surgery. The joke lands in the first second and then the games turn out to be properly playable, which is the part that keeps you there.

Why it is on Bored

A familiar thing made ridiculous by one decision, and then executed all the way: fourteen games you already know, each shrunk to a box a fingertip could cover, and each one properly playable. The joke takes a second and the games take the rest of the break. It is one of the few pages here that fits a coffee break and still feels like a proper session.

Tips

  • Sit close, or use your browser's zoom if the boxes are too small to read
  • Snake and the flappy ant are the ones that eat the most time
  • Keyboard games want a real keyboard, the rest are fine with a finger
  • Check the scoreboard at the top before you start, it sets the target

FAQ

Is ant toys free?

Yes. It is free in the browser with no account, no ads and no cookie banner.

Does it work on a phone?

Mostly. The games that use tap or touch play fine on a phone, but a few want arrow keys or a right-click, so a computer is the better bet.

Do I need to install anything?

No. All fourteen games run on the one page with nothing to download.

Is there a score?

Yes. A scoreboard at the top of the page shows high scores for the games that have them.
