Passweird

What it is

Passweird generates passwords that are, in the site's own words, so utterly repulsive that no criminal, identity thief or jealous boyfriend would ever want to use them. Press the button and you get a short gross phrase written in leetspeak, letters swapped for digits and a symbol thrown in. The site is upfront that these are secure-ish but probably not, and tells you not to use them for real. Nobody listens.

How to play

Press generate. Read the result. Wince. Press generate again. That is the loop, and there are no options to set, no length slider and no copy button, because the site knows you are not actually going to use fresh toupee with numbers in it as your bank login. Each press replaces the last password on the page.

What makes it different

Every other password generator is a utility. This one is a joke that happens to produce something a password field would accept. The passwords work as comedy because they are phrases first and gibberish second, so you can read them out loud, which is more than can be said for a string of random characters. The whole site is one page, one button and a credit line for the two people who made it.

Why it is on Bored

One idea at its most concentrated: no settings, no upsell, and a footnote admitting it is probably not secure. We keep it here for the moment someone asks for a new password and you can hand them one that ruins their day.
