How to play Typing sprint

A short text appears on screen. Start typing it out as fast as you can. The current word lights up so you know where you are. Wrong letters show in red and you have to backspace to fix them. The timer starts the second you press your first key and stops at thirty seconds. Your speed shows up as words per minute and your accuracy as a percentage.

Sit straight and rest your fingers on the home row
Read one or two words ahead so your hands keep moving
Speed comes from rhythm, slow down to fix typos right away
Long words give a bigger speed boost than short ones

About Typing sprint

Typing tests are older than the personal computer. They go all the way back to typewriter contests in the early 1900s, when winners pulled in real prize money for hundred plus words a minute. Today they are a quick way to see how your hands compare to the average office worker, around forty words per minute. Our sprint runs for half a minute, just long enough to push hard without your wrists complaining.
