How to play Word sense

Word sense is a daily guessing game about meaning, not spelling. There is one secret word each day. You type any word and we tell you how close it is in meaning to the secret word, shown as a rank: rank one is the secret word itself, and the lower the number the closer you are. Your guesses stack up in a list sorted by rank, with a colored bar from cold grey to warm yellow to hot green. Keep guessing words that feel related until you land on rank one. Plurals count as the single form, so boots counts as boot and you never chase two ranks for one meaning. There is no limit on guesses. A new secret word drops every day.
