How Punctual Are You?

Find out if your inner clock is a finely tuned atomic instrument or a chaotic mess with this addictive evaluation of your time-tracking intuition.

What it is

How Punctual Are You? is a white wall clock on a dark page with the question written across its face and one red button that says Time to find out. Press it and the clock gives you an appointment: come back at a stated time and reload the page. That is the whole test. It measures whether you actually show up.

How to play

Press the button. The clock face changes to a stated time and asks you to come back then and reload. Close the tab or leave it open, it does not matter, the appointment is stored in your browser. When you return and reload, the clock scores you on how close to the appointed time you arrived, and shows a Copy button and two share buttons for the result. Reload too early and it simply tells you how early you were, so there is no peeking.

What makes it different

There are no questions and no sliders. The test runs in real time, in your real day, and the only input is your sense of when to come back. It is less a quiz than a small appointment with a web page, and nothing on the page reminds you. Below the clock the site lists its other projects, which is one way to spend the wait.

Why it is on Bored

The leaving is the point here. One button, a slice of ordinary life, and a result that cannot be gamed by reading faster: the number you get back was earned by paying attention to a clock, which is a stranger achievement than it sounds.

Tips

  • Note the time somewhere, nothing on the page will
  • Reloading early counts as arriving early, so wait
  • Clearing the site's browser storage starts a fresh appointment
  • The result has a Copy button if you want to boast or confess
  • The tiles under the clock are the same site's other toys, handy while you wait
